We invite you to the first exhibition in the new year. This time, we invite you to a meeting with the artist – Jerzy Grabowski, an outstanding painter and graphic artist, associated with the trend of geometric abstraction.The exhibition presents 41 works: paintings, graphics, and drawings from various artistic periods of Jerzy Grabowski work, including 29 works from the collection of Ignacy Matuszewski (the artist's grandson) and 12 works from the Wiktor Ambroziewicz in Chełm.Jerzy Grabowski is one of the most interesting representatives of geometric abstraction in European graphics in the second half of the 20th century. In the 1960s and 1970s, he kept in touch with the artistic circles in Western Europe, he sat on the jury of many prestigious graphic competitions. Many of Grabowski's linocuts can be found in the collections of museums and European galleries. He was the initiator of the transformation of the nationwide exhibition "Color in Graphics" into the International Print Triennial. Through exhibitions and thanks to his numerous contacts, he promoted concrete and optical art in Poland.Jerzy Grabowski – born 1933, d. 2004. In the years 1953-1962 he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology, then at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He obtained his diploma in the studio of prof. Józef Mroszczak. From 1976, he ran a studio of flat printing at the PWSSP in Łódź. From 1993, he lectured at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw. Former founding association of XYLON Woodcutter. He practiced painting, artistic and functional graphics, as well as drawing. Major awards: 1974 – Bronze Medal at the 13th International Drawing Competition Joan Miro in Barcelona, ​​1979 Grand Prix – 2nd Quadriennial of Polish Woodcut and Linocut in Olsztyn, 1999 – Gold Medal – 12th Norwegian International Print Triennial, Fredrikstad.13.01.2022 the gallery will be open from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and on 14.01.2022 from 3.00 p.m.- 7.00. p.m.On other days, we are open to you from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 a.m.- 7.00. p.m.Due to the epidemiological situation, the exhibition will be opened without an opening. Depending on the development of the situation, the dates of the curatorial tour will be presented. According to the current epidemiological restrictions, 4 visitors may stay in the Gallery at the same time.Pursuant to par. 9 sec. 19b.
